The pandemic snapped into sharp focus the trends that were already springing up. People want more ownership, more flexibility, and more control over the time we spend staring into Zooms, typing away in Slack, and responding to comments in Google Docs.

People are seeking greater rewards from their work, both intrinsically and extrinsically. They want to enjoy what they are doing more and get fairly compensated for it. The “great resignation” is not about people being passively resigned to their fate, but actively embracing the diversity and pace of opportunity available today.

Work—at its best—can be a way we tap into flow, express our greatest strengths, and collaborate meaningfully. People crave being around others that they respect, admire, and can learn from. But most people don’t get to tap into their highest potential at work, because they lack the secret competitive advantages of the world’s top performers. That’s why we’re building Outpace. Ravi Mehta
CEO AND CO-FOUNDER OF OUTPACE

I've spent my career building and scaling great consumer technology products and teams. Prior to founding Outpace, I was an Executive-in-Residence at Reforge where I helped create the Product Leadership program and helped launch the Product Strategy program.

I was the Chief Product Officer at Tinder, a Product Director at Facebook focused on Gen Z Engagement, and the Head of Consumer Product at Tripadvisor. I started my career at Microsoft where I was an early member of the Xbox team.

Victoria Young
COO AND CO-FOUNDER OF OUTPACE

I’ve led the launch and growth of culture-defining consumer technology products, including the go-to-market for uberPOOL and Facebook Live. At Netflix, I worked in Product Innovation for content for shows like "Tidying Up With Marie Kondo". I also worked with startups as Startup Garage mentor at Station F in Paris, Twitter Chimehack Hack-a-thon, MIT, and more.

As a first-generation immigrant, coaching has been pivotal in helping me develop as a leader. As a coach, it's been deeply fulfilling to see people achieve their most ambitious goals with 1:1 support.

Vinodh Sundararajan
CTO AND CO-FOUNDER

I’ve built, scaled and led technology teams at some of the best companies and on several pioneering new products. Prior to Outpace, I was at Earnin, a fintech company focused on building a financial system that works for everyone and scaled the technology team.
I started my career at Samsung’s Wireless Terminals Research lab, working on graphics and application/platform development. While technology is my craft, product & people are my passions. I lead with principles and am motivated by opportunities to help unlock the massive potential in human beings.

Rena Ferrick
HEAD OF CONTENT

I’m an Emmy-nominated content leader who has worked in both tech and broadcast media. I’ve led Content Innovation at MasterClass, including the creation of MasterClass Sessions. I’ve scaled-up the content department at Dipsea. Previously, I was an Executive Producer and Writer of non-fiction television series for networks like National Geographic and Discovery. It’s no accident that much of my career has been spent at the intersection of storytelling and learning—they’re two of my biggest passions. This background has made me a huge believer in the power of combining content with coaching to make an impact.

Michelle Kwok
HEAD OF COMMUNITY GROWTH

I’m a medical science student turned social entrepreneur. Previously, I co-founded FLIK, a platform connecting female leaders and learners, which was acquired by Rumor Avenue. I also led operations and built out the Longevity Biotech community at OnDeck, working on special projects alongside leadership. I’ve been recognized by BC Business’ 30 Under 30, YWCA’s Young Woman of Distinction, a Conversationalist GenZ Honoree, and has been featured in publications like Forbes, BetaKit, The Hustle, and Women of Influence.

About the role

We're looking for a team player who has experience building from the ground up and laying the infrastructure for fast growth. We're pioneering a new interaction model to help unlock coaching at scale, so we'll need your unique perspective and creativity in helping us to build the best possible experience for translating knowledge from leading experts into interactive, multi-media mobile experiences.

As our Founding CTO, you'll be:

  • Building the foundations of the Scale experience. You’ll build the platform that reinvents how people get support from a coach. We’re looking for a fullstack builder that is passionate about delivering immersive, consumer-centric experiences and tapping into the latest technologies to enable coaches to help people level up at scale.
  • Leading product engineering end to end ownership and execution. You’ll be responsible for rapidly shipping high quality features in collaboration with our design and product teams, making technical decisions across the stack.
  • Shaping our engineering team and culture. You've got experience managing others and are excited to continue to grow as a leader. You'll be driving planning and execution, mentor other team members, set engineering processes and drive meaningful cultural initiatives, shape and drive future hiring efforts
About You

You’re a builder. Your Github profile is lit up like a Xmas tree. Contributing to open source projects and side hustles are a big plus. You have at least 3 years of experience building premium software for a startup or 0-1 initiative. You’re user-centric in your work and passionate about great user experience. You’re detail-oriented and enjoy diving into challenging technical problems involving complex tradeoffs and difficult decisions.

You love collaborating cross-functionally and working directly with product, design, and business stakeholders. You have a growth mindset and you’re eager to rapidly develop your skills and increase your responsibilities.
